Globe trotter, author, composer, interpret, singer, guitarist, percussionist, Kenja speaks and sings fluently in 5 languages (English, French, Spanish, Mauritius Island Creole and Japanese). Kenjah was born in August 22, 1975 in Paris, France, and has always been a traveler in spite of himself. Because of his father s job (anthropologist and art painter), his family lived in many different French cities (Niort, Bordeaux, Montpellier, St Raphael, and Paris) as well as abroad (San Francisco).
From a young age, Kenjah was a child very absorbed by music. He started learning by taking some classical piano lessons from the age of 9 to 15 with a teacher (Miss Rouire from the piano academy of Paris). He also taught himself the guitar. After 2 years of study at the La Sorbonne University of Paris, he went back to his first love, which is of course music, and decided to enter the ATLA professional music school of Paris. This professional vocation cycle allowed him to accomplish himself individually. There he studied vocal improvisation, harmony, stage approach, and composition. He also participated in some Master classes to initiate himself to many others musical disciplines. After getting a diploma from the ATLA school, he accepted an invitation from his friend the guitarist Zeel Yadalee and flew to Mauritius Island. This was the start of a long tour of more than a decade through Africa, Europe and Asia, which allowed him to start his music studies with a universal view.
